The Tulsa NOAH Jaguars are privileged to be
practicing and playing games at Town & County School. NOAH leases
this facility on a limited basis from October through March and we
are proud to call it our Home Gym.
(Map)
The basketball
season is culminated by playing in the
National Homeschool Basketball Tournament.
Over 250 teams from all over the country participate in March of
each year.
It
is the largest basketball tournament (at any level) in the
country.
The following is
a brief overview of our basketball programs. For complete details, download our Player/Parent
Handbook.
Elementary
- NOAH's Elementary teams play in
the Elementary Christian Conference (ECC) and their season
begins in January. NOAH typically hosts an annual pre-season
tournament in December.
-
Age
requirements: must be 12 & under on September 1. (Ages 10-12.)
-
NOAH teams are formed the first week in October. Practices start
in November.
-
Sign-ups and evaluations are
usually held on the first Monday in October at the Home Gym.
(Evaluations will determine which team will best suit each
player. See divisions below.)
-
There are typically 10 or more
games during the regular season.
'A' Division:
The A division competes at
the highest level for elementary players. There are no playing
time requirements for each player, and most of the players are 6th
graders. NOAH typically fields one boys and one girls team in the
A division. Schools in this division typically include teams from
Holland Hall, Victory, Evangelistic Temple, Grace, Wright, etc.
B Division:
In the B division, there is a playing time requirement for each
player. There will be a mix of 5th and 6th grade players. NOAH
typically fields one girls team and 2 boys teams for the B
division. Schools in this division are similar to those in the A
division.
C Division: This is a newer division that
started in the 2003-04 season and is for boys only. This division
will be comprised of the less skilled players/teams so they can
compete on a more competitive level. This will definitely be a
highly developmental division with required playing time rules.
No 6th graders allowed in this division. NOAH anticipates that we
will field one boys team for this division.
ECC Tournament:
The top 8 teams in each division
earn the right to play in the post-season playoffs (March) and see
who will be crowned the city champion.
